ABOUT

The result of being someone who normally stands behind the camera!

Never considered myself a writer, but I am a lifelong learner with a love of teaching. This is a spot for thoughts and inspirations that flow from years of God working in my life through His Word, prayer, and ministry.

The Story Behind the Blog

Writing a blog was always on my bucket list, but I never, ever thought it would start be exploring prayer! Teaching is my passion and I use it currently in my job as a private piano teacher, but I also used it for years in the church to teach people of all ages about music and worshipping God through music. So why prayer?

Probably because it’s one of the most obvious spiritual disciplines I’ve always struggled to keep consistent. When considering spiritual goals this year, I went through a checklist like this: Reading the Bible regularly? Check. Worshipping God through song? Check. Serving in the church? Check. Praying daily? I think I did last week…

Thus began a journey to pray more. I’m devouring books and articles, watching numerous videos, and trying different methods. Unfortunately, resources along the lines of Protestant but not pentecostal or charismatic thought were difficult to find. Blogging seemed like the perfect channel to record my findings and maybe help someone else in the process.

The main purpose in sharing is to send some resources to the College and Career ladies at my church and hopefully encourage a community that never ceases to pray. Want to join us? Click Here

The name was inspired by two things. There were two amazing women of God and martyrs in the early church named Perpetua & Felicity. They were strong women who valued their Savior above all else. Also, one of the most poignant song lyrics that keeps popping up in my life is the encouragement in the Chris Rice song “Nonny Nonny” to “Run the earth and watch the sky”. It beckons us to enjoy God on this earth by remembering the hope of our future eternal life He has given us through His Son. Hopefully this blog will be a gathering of resources to encourage believers to find their joy in Christ.
